Beach Live Cameras
The live beach cameras available on this website are provided to allow residents and visitors to view current beach conditions, sea conditions, weather and general visitor activity.
These cameras are not intended or designed for the surveillance or identification of individuals.
Privacy by Design
Our system is engineered from the ground up to protect individual privacy by enforcing hardware and software restrictions:
Cameras are fixed in position and cannot pan, tilt or zoom.
Cameras are installed at significant height above ground level.
The cameras provide panoramic views only.
Individuals cannot reasonably be identified from the live images.
Video recording is permanently disabled.
Audio recording is permanently disabled.
No facial recognition technology is used.
No behavioural analysis or people tracking is performed.
Live Images Only & Purpose
Real-Time Stream
The cameras provide live images solely for public information purposes. No video or audio is recorded, stored or archived.
Permitted Purposes
The purpose of the cameras is exclusively to provide information regarding:
- Beach conditions
- Sea conditions
- Weather conditions
- General visitor levels
Data Protection & GDPR
The Municipality and its technology partners have designed the system to minimise any impact on personal privacy.
The system has been implemented in accordance with the principles of Privacy by Design under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), ensuring that privacy considerations have been incorporated from the outset.
Questions, Concerns & Contact
If any individual believes that a live camera view presents a privacy concern, they are encouraged to contact the Municipality so that the matter can be reviewed promptly.
The Municipality is committed to reviewing all genuine privacy concerns and, where appropriate, taking any reasonable measures necessary to protect personal privacy.
About This System
This live beach camera system has been developed by Neuranet Solutions Ltd using Privacy by Design principles. Privacy protection was a fundamental design requirement from the outset, with the objective of providing useful public information while minimising any impact on the privacy of individuals.
The system has been intentionally designed so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify or monitor individuals, while allowing residents and visitors to view current beach conditions, sea state and general visitor levels in real time.
